Through our 2019-2021 Strategic Plan, CSH is refocusing our work with supportive housing to be more than a model, a new building, another lease, or a singular reduction in a homeless count. With Scaling Supportive Housing through Systems Integration, we are advancing supportive housing as an approach for change that: leans in to address the root causes of inequity; breaks down silos; creates smarter and better-integrated systems; and builds more resilient communities. We are calling for true integration of housing and services through a multi-sector approach that levels the playing field for people who have traditionally lacked opportunity and access. |

Indiana Institute is Program of the Year
The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and CSH were honored with the Key Award for Program of the Year by Prosperity Indiana for the annual Indiana Supportive Housing Institute. With the 2019 class, IHCDA and CSH are celebrating 10 years of the Institute, which has graduated over 50 teams. "The honor goes to the supportive housing providers and partners that have leveraged their Institute experience to create hundreds of stable homes for people who were once struggling on our streets, and facing problems exacerbating their homelessness," said Lori Phillips-Steele, Director of CSH initiatives in Indiana. |

$500M Bay Area Housing Fund
Community and faith leaders, housing advocates, business leaders, and philanthropists launched a regional public-private housing partnership that will build one of the country's largest investment funds to address the affordable housing crisis in the Northern California Bay Area. The Partnership for the Bay's Future aims to solve the interconnected challenges of housing, transportation, and economic opportunity. CSH is will participate in the Investment Fund along with LISC and Capital Impact Partners. "What excites us about The Partnership for the Bay's Future is the effort to make sure vulnerable people, often at the lowest end of the income scale, are included in this larger affordable housing initiative," said Brigitt Jandreau, CSH Chief Lending Officer. |

Denver's Rising Star in Housing
Standing out in the crowd is what CSH staff do. So it's no surprise that Katie Bonamasso, our Program Manager in Denver, made the list of Denverite's Who's Next: Housing, a list of "people starting to make waves in all areas of housing." Katie has been coordinating the Social Impact Bond Pay for Success initiative in Denver, ensuring 250 people find the housing and services they need to thrive. When asked, "what's on the docket for 2019?" Katie responded, "Just continuing to do good work." |

Innovation Corner: Tool ID's Frequent Users
CSH partnered with the Center for Data Science and Public Policy at the University of Chicago to develop a web-based, data-integration tool to establish prioritization criteria for supportive housing. The tool linked personal records from the Justice System and Homeless Management Information System to identify individuals who accessed each system, the number of times they did so and for how long. Three communities participating in our Pay for Success initiative utilized the tool looking to make the case for investment in FUSE supportive housing initiatives. Housing Reboot to Improve Health
The NHP Foundation recently joined forces with CSH to call for fresh ways to use housing and health partnerships to bring about significant changes for those in need, including innovative approaches to funding and services. Seeking MSW Interns in Los Angeles
CSH is seeking additional Master of Social Work (MSW) student interns for placement with homeless services and supportive housing providers in Los Angeles County. Our MSW Internship program is designed to create an expanded talent pool to meet the growing need for experienced staff across the services sector in LA. Our staff will be at internship placement fairs held this month at six participating universities: Azusa Pacific University, University of California – Los Angeles, University of Southern California, California State University – Dominguez Hills, Long Beach and Northridge. Housing + Substance Use Recovery
CSH is offering a free series aimed at bringing together supportive housing and homeless services providers and other systems to work more effectively with people who use substances, including opioids. The webinar series begins Wednesday, February 20 at 1:30 pm ET with Addiction Services 101: Recovery Support Services, Medication Assisted Treatment or MAT, and Addiction Treatment. This free webinar will consider ways to create links between systems, how to encourage new resources targeted to the most vulnerable in your community, information needed to create partnerships to increase supportive housing capacity and examine the differences between Medicaid expansion and non-expansion states.
