Tips to Begin Tackling Homelessness Prevention
  
 

Former USICH Executive Director Barbara Poppe recently completed a study with Your Way Home in Montgomery County, PA, to help develop a community-wide homelessness and eviction prevention strategy.

On April 26, the 19 federal member agencies of the Council came together to review the Council's progress in FY 2017 and discuss the continued development of an updated federal strategic plan to prevent and end homelessness.

Voices of Youth Count Issues Research Brief on LGBTQ Homelessness in America 
 

The latest brief from Chapin Hall describes research findings that LGBTQ youth experience higher rates of homelessness compared to heterosexual and non-transgender youth. LGBTQ youth also face a higher risk of early death and other adversities.

Learn about the opportunities highlighted in the report to better meet the needs of LGBTQ young people in our collective efforts to end youth homelessness.
 




HUD Needs Input From Rapid Re-Housing Programs

HUD recently launched a survey of all rapid re-housing programs as part of a national study to explore how they currently serve and interact with people experiencing homelessness. 

We encourage all RRH programs to complete the survey emailed this week by Abt Associates. If your program didn't receive an invitation to complete the survey, please contact the researchers.  





Webinar on HUD's NOFA on Mainstream Housing Vouchers for Non-Elderly People with Disabilities   



HUD recently issued a Notice of Funding Availability for $100 million in new mainstream housing vouchers for non-elderly people with disabilities.

Technical Assistance Collaborative and National Alliance to End Homelessness are holding a webinar on Thursday, May 3, at 1:00 pm ET to provide Continuums of Care and homelessness services providers with strategies to partner with local PHAs on this opportunity.
