The National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) has announced the winners of the 2018 Organizing Awards for outstanding achievements in organizing efforts that advance NLIHC’s mission:
- The Right to Counsel NYC Coalition organized low-income renters in support of the civil right to an attorney for renters in New York City facing eviction.
- The Metropolitan St. Louis Equal Housing and Opportunity Commission and Empower Missouri advocated together for the St. Louis City Board of Aldermen to pass an ordinance criminalizing “self-help” or “lock-out” evictions.
