Hurricane Harvey Information and Resources for HUD Grantees, Partners, and Residents

To assist with Hurricane Harvey Disaster response and relief efforts, HUD.gov and the HUD Exchange have added new pages to highlight important news, updates, and resources. Each page contains important links and information to aid residents affected by Hurricane Harvey, including where to find the nearest shelter, how to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assistance, steps to care for your home post disaster, and other helpful resources. The pages also provide information for HUD's partners, including pertinent information from HUD, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the Small Business Administration (SBA), and the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program.

SAMHSA Will Unveil Latest Behavioral Health Data in Conjunction With 28th Annual National Recovery Month Observance

Thursday, September 7 | 9–10:30 a.m. Eastern Time
SAMHSA will unveil key data on mental and substance use disorders, including opioid use, at a press conference on Thursday, September 7. Speakers will include HHS Secretary Tom Price, M.D.; Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use, Elinore McCance-Katz, M.D., Ph.D.; and Office of National Drug Control Policy Acting Director, Richard Baum. 
Data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) will be revealed in conjunction with the kickoff of the 28th annual National Recovery Month observance. Recovery Month celebrates individuals throughout the country who have achieved long-term recovery from mental and substance use disorders, and recognizes the contributions of the dedicated men and women who provide treatment and recovery services.
The NSDUH data release will be live webcast from the National Press Club. Members of the public may join the webcast by registering.
