HUD’s HDX Now Open for CoCs to Submit Their 2017 HIC and PIT Count Data

The 2017 Point-in-Time (PIT) count appears to be a great success. We have heard many reports of improved efforts to get more accurate counts and to be more inclusive of critical partners in the community. We look forward to discovering more about our youth experiencing homelessness and pairing that data from lessons learned through other youth efforts to continue to end homelessness among young people.
HUD’s Homelessness Data Exchange (HDX) web portal is now open for Continuums of Care (CoCs) to submit their 2017 Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and Point-in-Time (PIT) count data. HUD is opening the HDX earlier this year in response to many CoCs that requested the ability to begin entering their data into HDX earlier than in the past. CoCs should review the 2017 Housing Inventory Count and Point-in-Time Count of Homeless Persons: Data Submission Guidance for information on how to submit their 2017 HIC and PIT count data in HDX. CoCs must submit their 2017 HIC and PIT count data by Monday, May 1, 2017 at 7:59:59 PM EDT.
Submitting the HIC and the PIT count data in HDX is a two-step process, and both steps must be completed by the submission deadline.
  1. HIC data must be submitted via the HIC Reporting Status page.

  2. PIT count data must be submitted via the PIT Reporting Status page.
For more information about the HIC and PIT Count, visit the PIT and HIC Guides, Tools, and Webinars page. If you have questions regarding this listserv, please submit your questions to the HUD Exchange Ask A Question (AAQ) portal. To submit a question to the AAQ portal, select “HDX: Homelessness Data Exchange” from the “My question is related to” drop down list on Step 2 of the question submission process.
