HUD secretary pens exit memo, includes steps for next administration
Secretary Julián Castro is using his final days as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to highlight progress. In Housing as a Platform for Opportunity: A Memo to the American People, Castro details the success achieved through the Opening Doors and Mayors' Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness campaigns. He also uses the memo to frame the remaining opportunities for the new administration.

Grants available for projects serving rural veterans
The Housing Assistance Council, with support from The Home Depot Foundation, is looking to fund housing projects which target rural veterans. This grant is open to non-profits, tribally designated housing entities and housing authorities.
