Are you ready to attend the third of the four-part webinar series titled Housing + Employment Works? The series focuses on how Continuum of Care (CoC) leadership, CoC program recipients, and local workforce professionals can more effectively provide employment supports for homeless and at-risk job seekers.The webinar series is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH).

This webinar, Employment Assessment in Coordinated Entry Systems, will be held on Thursday, June 16, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM EDT.

Presenters Include:

  • Gary Grier, Program Manager, Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County, Houston, Texas
  • Danielle Winslow, Family Homelessness Initiative, Project Manager II, All Home (formerly the Committee to End Homelessness), Seattle, Washington

The Webinar Will Cover:

  • Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) work-based training opportunities for youth and adults;
  • The benefits of assessing employment at the front end; and
  • How two communities developed and implemented employment assessment in their coordinated entry systems.

SOARing Over Lunch Conference Calls!

In June, SAMHSA's SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery Technical Assistance (SOAR TA) Center will be starting a series of informal monthly calls designed to help support SOAR efforts across the country. Whether you're a SOAR Caseworker, Local or State Lead, these calls are for you!
 
Interested in learning how to implement local steering committees? Have technical questions related to SOAR applications? Want some tips on improving your MSRs? These calls are for you!
 
These is no agenda set in advance for these calls, but we do ask that you send us questions and/or topics you would like covered in advance of the calls.  Click here to submit.  No question or topic is too great or small!

We know there is a great deal of knowledge and expertise in the SOAR national community and this is the perfect forum for peer-to-peer knowledge sharing. Once we have had the chance to discuss the topics we received in advance, we will open the call for a facilitated open discussion where you can ask questions, raise topics and provide feedback based on topics presented by your peers.
