SOAR Webinar
For individuals with disabilities who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in rural areas, accessing resources can be more limited than in urban areas. Access to health care and other critical supportive services, such as SOAR, is impacted by various factors from limited resources and service capacity, to the long distances between these resources.

During this webinar, you will hear from two SOAR leaders from rural states who will describe both the challenges and successes implementing and sustaining SOAR in their rural areas. Presenters will provide an overview of their communities' SOAR programs, and also present strategies to strengthen coordination and collaboration to address key challenges in a rural state or community. You will learn how establishing SOAR state certification standards and implementing the SOAR Online Course have increased service capacity and reach to newly served areas. Presentations will also include an overview of SOAR in rural areas, and its similarities and difference to SOAR in urban settings.

Intended Audience:
This webinar is recommended for SOAR State Leads, SOAR Local Leads, SOAR Coordinators, SOAR Providers, Homeless Service Providers, Outreach Workers, Mental Health Specialists, and for individuals who would like more information on how to use the SOAR model in rural communities.
