Congressional committee considers opioid legislation
The Alliance has been involved in efforts to ensure that legislation addressing the opioid epidemic includes provisions related to re-housing and clinical components for homeless people. While the opioid epidemic is notable for affecting people from any race, gender, or socioeconomic status, its effects are felt in unique and notably harmful ways by people who are experiencing homelessness.

Today, the conference committee held a formal meeting to discuss the conference report. A House vote on the final draft could occur as early as Friday, July 8th, after which the bill will be sent to the Senate for consideration.
