The National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life (NCALL) has just posted a report titled Working with Older Survivors of Abuse: A Framework for Advocates.

This report is the first product that NCALL is releasing as part of a larger toolkit. Throughout the next year, NCALL will release a workbook and training modules on various topics to support the work of local domestic violence and sexual assault advocates.

NCALL is announcing the release of this report during the webinar, Guiding Principles for Working with Older Victims of Abuse, that will be held today, June 10, 2016 at 3:00 PM EDT. The following provides information about the webinar and links to register.

Please join the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence and NCALL today for a webinar highlighting the report, including an overview of several guiding principles, minimum guidelines, and practical strategies for advocates as well as supplemental video resources. The 90-minute webinar will offer participants a better understanding of abuse and neglect experienced by older persons and the cultural, social, economic, and demographic processes affecting survivors of abuse in later life.

Presenters include:
  • Juanita Davis, NCALL Program Manager
  • Ann Turner, NCALL Elder Victim Services and Advocacy Coordinator
