DOJ releases Community Policing Dispatch Dedicated to Breaking the Cycle of Homelessness

Each month, the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office), releases an e-newsletter – the Community Policing Dispatch – to educate its readers about issues pertaining to the implementation and practice of community policing. For the December issue, the COPS Office joined with the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty to produce an issue dedicated entirely to breaking the cycle of homelessness.
In this issue, you can read more about local efforts to involve law enforcement in the effort to end homelessness, alternatives to criminalization, and upcoming resources for interacting with individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
