Solution of the Day: The Chelsea Foyer is a critical bridge for youth at risk of homelessness

The Chelsea Foyer at The Christopher in New York, NY, is a transitional housing program for young adults 18 to 25 who are aging out of foster care and experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Residents live in suites or studio-style apartments at a single site and participate in an individualized program of services for up to 24 months.

Ending homelessness means providing a pathway to stable and permanent housing now for people who are experiencing homelessness. It also means changing the way we respond when people have a housing crisis so that we can prevent homelessness whenever possible or otherwise ensure that homelessness is a rare, brief, and nonrecurring experience.
