Positive Futures 2014: HIV and Employment Conference - June 6, 2014


The upcoming conference, Positive Futures 2014: HIV and Employment, will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 in Meriden, Connecticut. This conference features opportunities to network and listen to presentations from specialists in HIV, housing, vocational rehabilitation, workforce development, education, re-entry, benefits, the ACA, harm reduction, and behavioral health.
The full-day conference, presented by AIDS Connecticut and the National Working Positive Coalition, features eleven breakout workshops on topics including:
  • Women Living with HIV: Unique Employment Needs, Issues and Strategies
  • The Affordable Care Act (ACA) & Employment
  • Employment after Criminal Convictions
Panelists will discuss research findings on the relationships between HIV, employment and HIV health and prevention outcomes, as well as benefits issues and strategies, and successful HIV-specific employment program models.
