The 2014 National Family and Youth Conference Begins Today!


The Alliance is looking forward to seeing you in New Orleans today, Tuesday, February 18, at our 2014 National Conference on Ending Family and Youth Homelessness. We encourage the more than 800 of you who are attending to share your conference experiences through our online presence. Keep up with the Alliance on the Alliance blog, Ending Homelessness Today

The Never Another Homeless Veteran Campaign
We would also like to invite you to join the Alliance's Never Another Homeless Veteran Campaign by adding your name to the thousands of others who have signed the statement and shown their support for the fight to end veteran homelessness. During the conference be sure to Tweet about veteran homelessness using the campaign hashtag #neveranotherhomelessvet.
Conference Reception Details
The Meet and Mingle reception for the Conference attendees will take place at the Louisiana State Presbytere Museum tonight from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Space is limited and advanced registration was recommended for this event. However, space may still be available. To see about registering to attend during the Conference, please inquire about availability at the registration desk.







President to Raise Debt Ceiling
The President is expected to sign a bill that would raise the debt ceiling into law prior to February 27, the date at which the nation is expected to exceed the debt limit. The bill passed through the House and Senate last week.
Congress Departs for President's Day Recess
Last Thursday, February 13, the House departed for recess so that House Democrats could hold an issues retreat. Both chambers of Congress are currently on recess for the President's Day holiday. The Senate is expected to return on Monday, February 24, while the House is expected to return Tuesday, February 25.
